Estratest and Estratest HS both are
combination of two or more active ingredients i.e.
esterified estrogens and methyltsetesterone. Estratest and
Estratest Hs are used to treat symptoms associated with
menopause, like flushing, sweating, "hot flashes," and
vaginal irritation, in women. Both drugs work by replacing
estrogen after its production ceases/reduces at menopause.
Also they provide some testosterone.
Esterified Estrogens
Esterified estrogens are combinations of estrogenic hormones
used as replacement therapy in conditions of inadequate
estrogen production. They are also used to treat some people
with advanced breast and prostate cancers.
Methyltsetesterone
Methyltestosterone is basically androgen, a sex hormone used
in men to treat testosterone deficiency. In women it is used
to treat breast cancer, as well as breast pain and swelling
after pregnancy. It is also combined with estrogen (in
Estra-test and Estratest HS ) to treat symptoms associated
with menopause.
